Jiri Matura is a czech production designer, architect and art-director.
Born in the 1980’s in Prague, where he lives with his wife and daughter, cycles and sometimes works too.

He has received his master degree in architecture in Greg Lynn's Master class at University of Applied Arts ( die Angewandte ) Vienna where he got introduced to digital design tools and design concepts and perfected his skills training with the likes of Zaha Hadid.

After working as an architect and 3d artist, his passion for film brought him slowly to the world of film studios.
It was thanks to some great designers and art directors that he has gained his experience and got introduced to different sides of art direction from scenic paint to prop buying. He had the chance to work with recognised designers as K.K. Barrett, Claude Pare, Jan Roelfs, Sonja Klaus, John Beard, Steven Jones Evans, David Lee, Martin Krejzlik, Kevin Phipps and others.
It is the art of world building and narrating stories through the creation of unique personal spaces that makes his work stand out.
His design process often stats with extensive research and creation of precise concept art that leads to detailled technical planning and execution of sets and set decoration.

His continuous work and research in architecture and design is influencing his work as production designer. His deep interest for advancements in technology, science as well as sensibility for contemporary art are at the base of his work.

Since 2009 he has designed international projects including features, series and commercials, his work has won multiple international awards.
